THE Towy Valley blogger, who lost her libel case against Carmarthenshire chief executive Mark James, is appealing against the ruling.
Jacqui Thomas, of Llanwrda, had her case against Mr James dismissed by Mr Justice Tugendhat in March and the counter case by Mr James upheld and he was awarded £25,000 in damages. Now she has announced she will be appealing against the judgement on her blog, Carmarthenshire Planning Problems and More.
On the site she states: ‘The Notice of Appeal was filed with the Court of Appeal on the 28th June 2013.
I am appealing against the judgement handed down on the 15th March 2013 by Mr Justice Tugendhat and the subsequent Trial Order.
“The Grounds of Appeal relate to and include the serious findings made by the judge against myself, the dismissal of my claim, the counter-claim brought by Mr James, and the award of damages on the counter-claim.”
She added that the Notice of Appeal also requests permission to appeal.
Mrs Thompson, who last month revealed she must foot the Council’s legal bill of £230,000, was found by the High Court to have ‘engaged in an unlawful campaign of harassment, defamation and intimidation targeted against Mr James and other council officers.
Her claims of corruption against Mr James were also dismissed.
