With debate raging over the decision to stop using Cadbury's Dairy Milk in that staple of the British spring, the Cadbury's creme egg, Guardian staff carried out an incredibly thorough and scientific taste test to see whether the changes would leave the American owners of the firm with egg on their face.
Advertising Team Leader Rhian Jones is a long-term fan of the traditional egg.
"The chocolate bit definitely tastes a bit different. It tastes plainer to me, but the gooey stuff in the middle takes over.
"Overall it tastes just as sweet - and as good as it always did."
Rhian rating: 10/10
Reporter Clare Snowdon likes a creme egg on occasion.
"I can't really taste any difference.
"The sweetness of the filling in the middle completely overpowers anything else. It's hard to separate the taste of the creme filling from the chocolate. I did quite enjoy it though and would definitely have another one."
Clare rating: 8/10
Advertising Rep Elisa Williams is not a big fan of chocolate generally.
"It is pretty difficult to taste the chocolate on its own. I'm not really a lover of creme eggs, but it definitely seems smaller to me than I remember. I don't think it tastes any different now than it used to."
Elisa rating: 8/10
Front desk and South Wales Guardian legend, Angela Morris.
"Overall, the whole things is much, much too sweet. I certainly wouldn't rush out and buy another one.
"I can't taste any difference with how they used to be."
Angela rating 6/10
Guardian editor Steve Adams thinks he ate his last creme egg in the 1980s.
"The chocolate doesn't taste as I expected it to - it was too sickly for me.
"I thought it would be richer and creamy, but it wasn't where near as nice as I expected.
"It certainly didn't taste like Cadbury's chocolate. The whole thing was too sweet and they definitely seem much smaller than I remember."
Steve rating: 3/10
