A Gwaun cae Gurwen benefit cheat has admitted using tax-payer's money to fund trips to a Caribbean paradise.
Catrin Lynne Gomez, of 90 Heol cae Gurwen, pleaded guilty to claiming Disability Living Allowance (DLA) while spending prolonged periods living on the sunshine island of the Dominican Republic.
The 53-year-old failed to declare that she was spending more than 13 weeks during the previous 52 in the Caribbean heat when she filled out her annual DLA application.
Appearing before Llanelli magistrates court, Gomez admitted two charges of benefit fraud in that she made statements to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) which she knew to be false.
The court heard how she failed to give details of her international travels when making claims on November 10, 2010, and November 01, 2011.
The trips would have affected her entitlement to DLA.
Gomez was sentenced to a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £85 costs.
