CYBER whizz kids from Ysgol Maesydderwen in Ystradgynlais have once again led the way for Wales by making the final of a top school's competition for the third time.

Team “Insert Name Here” which is made up of pupils Joshua, Leon, Alec and Daniel, were once again the only Welsh school to make it to the UK finals of the Cyber Security Challenge – Cyber Games 5.0. at Warwick University on December 2 for the final round.

The team successfully secured their place at the finals by accumulating points by decoding and solving various types of ciphers in the preliminary round held online over the previous weekend, competing against teams from across the UK.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Unfortunately, the team didn't win, however, we are extremely proud of their achievement for representing Ysgol Maesydderwen-well done!”
