Fire crews from Carmarthen and Tumble were called to a car fire on the westbound carriage of the A40 road between Llanddarog and Carmarthen at 7.43pm on Sunday.
The car was destroyed by the fire Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were able to extinguish the blaze.
Police also attended the incident.
Emergency crews left the scene 9pm.
