Dyfed-Powys Police and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire on Cross Hands roundabout on Monday afternoon (March 28).
Emergency services attended the Westbound carriageway of the A48, where a car was ablaze, at approximately 1.30pm on the afternoon of Monday, March 28.
Police officers closed the carriageway, while fire crews from Ammanford extinguished the fire.
A spokesperson from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire destroyed a car before it was extinguished by firefighter using a breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.
“The fire service left the incident at 2.01pm.”
Police officers reopened one lane of the carriageway, while recovery of the vehicle was arranged.
The entire road was reopened at approximately 4pm.
