Burry Port’s Legion Whites earned a much-needed 5-2 win at Llandybie RFC in the Llanelli and District Snooker League First Division, courtesy of Adrian Hopkins, Richard Evans (37 break), J Ellis and Nigel Summerfield. Rhodri Treharne and Sion Isaac replied.
Electric C were also 5-2 winners - against Upper Tumble Blues. C Rees and Carwyn Cue were on top for the latter.
Llanesco B edged a 4-3 win against Pontardulais Workmens’, while wins from Tyler Rees, Andrew Williams and Alan Jones gave Snooker World, Ammanford, a fine 4-3 victory over leaders Pontardulais Cons A. Anthony Lewis, Jonny Wilcox and Steve Doughton (31) won for the visitors.
Many matches fell foul of last week’s weather, including at Garnant Club, where it was lights out in Division Two thanks to a power cut. Nearby CGMD did play and Nigel Jones, Alun Rees and Rhodri Llewelyn were on song in an aggregate 4-3 loss to Electricity B.
Kevin Sellwood (43 and 28 breaks), Craig Rees and Alun Harris gave Pontyberem Workmens’ a 4-3 success at Llanelli Cons A, whereas Craig Jones (40) break helped Reading Room Blues in their 5-2 Burry Port derby win against Reading Room Reds.
Llanesco A won 4-3 at Bryn, while Cons B suffered a 6-1 loss at Tycroes RFC A. For the rugby club, Geoff Jones, Martin Davies, Matthew Bromham, Steve Francis and Tim Lewis won.
In Division Three, C Jones, Raymond Davies and Arnallt Evans edged a 4-3 win for Tycroes B at Cross Hands C. Jimmy Thomas, Gary Joshua and Brian Jones replied.
Chris Salisbury provided Upper Tumble Reds’ only point from a 6-1 loss at the hands of Ponthenri Social. For the latter, Craig Howells, Jeff Howells, Kevin Lewis, Mark Regola and Alan James supplied wins.
Meanwhile, Lee O’Neill (32), Dai Porter, Adrian Thomas (35), Hugh Williams and Gary Thomas swept Pont Cons B to a 6-1 victory against Snooker World B. Dafydd Davies won for the Ammanford side.
Matthew James, Roy Foster and Arwyn Pritchard gave Cross Hands A an aggregate 4-3 win against Llandybie Social B, whose points were accrued by Anthony Davies, Peter Rees and James Hagley.
Llandeilo Hall enjoyed a 5-2 win against Carway B, courtesy of Richard Friend, Tim Walters (22), Dai Lewis and Adam Challis.
