Community choir, St. Teilo Singers, is celebrating 25 years of performing with a special one-off gala concert.
Conducted by Richard Whitehead, the singers will be performing alongside Eleri Owen Edwards, this year’s contralto winner of Eisteddfod Genedlaethol and Blue Riband as well as well known tenor soloist Andrew Douglas-Forbes and baritone Aled Edwards.
Andrew Douglas-Forbes who is also a member of the choir, said: “After many years in Italy, it was a surprise to move back to Wales and find such a great choir on my new doorstep. Making music with such a warm and friendly group is a true pleasure - Monday evenings always go too quickly."
The Gala Concert is a silver celebration of 25 years of singing for the community and will take place on Friday September 13 in St Teilo’s Church at 7.30pm.
Founded by Elwyn Jones in 1989, the singers meet every Monday (during term times) from 7.30 to 9.30pm, at St Teilo's Church in Llandeilo. New members are always welcome.
Tickets for all concerts can be bought at Peppercorn or Chess (Carmarthen Street) by calling 01558 668637 or on the door. For more information, visit thestteilosingers.com.
