PREMIER Prix-winning pianist Ivan Ilic arrives at Theatr Elli for a stunning recital of selected works by Handel, Schubert, Liszt, Debussy plus a new piece by Reynold Tharp, on February 22.
A rising star on the Parisian music scene, the 28-year-old American pianist is quickly gaining international recognition for his unique blend of Gallic touch, Slavic soul and a mathematician's precision'. Since starting music studies at the tender age of six, with his recital debut at 11, Ivan has studied degrees in music and mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley and won a place at the esteemed Conservatoire Superieur de Paris.
Ivan won't be playing venues of this size for long; this really is a unique opportunity to catch this celebrated pianist in what promises to be a really spellbinding event. He'll also be holding an on-stage question and answer session after the recital that will interest budding pianists and those with an interest in classical music alike - and to encourage learners to attend, Carmarthenshire Theatres are offering two tickets for the price of one, available to piano tutors and students in school, college and the wider community.
Tickets, priced £8.50 with £7 concessions, are available from the box office: 0845 226 3508/09/10.
