Bob Harris is famed for his promotion of great music through his programmes on Radio 1 and Radio 2, and his renowned TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test which featured bands such as Focus, The Eagles and Meat Loaf during it’s run on BBC2.
Described as ‘a national treasure’, he has been an icon of the broadcasting industry for over forty years and his passion and commitment to the pursuit of excellence has become his trademark.
This is reflected in the numerous impressive awards he has collected over the years including four Sony Awards, a Radio Academy Award for outstanding contribution to music, and a CMA for international Broadcaster of the year, to name but a few!
