Hot on the heels of a hugely successful Edin-burgh Festival and 2007 tour, and loaded with a first-full of rave reviews, Mutton Productions will be bringing their side-splitting, brilliantly funny sketch show Mutton to Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre on Thursday.
Mutton is a unique comedy sketch show that appeals to women of all ages – and the men that have to live with them! Combining the talents of Jean Heard (No Sex Please, We’re British and The Bill), Donna Flinn (The New Seekers) and Julia Munrow (The Barbican Theatre’s Underground), this is a fresh and invigorating show which gives a riotous insight into reaching ‘that certain age’ and all the trials and tribulations involved!
Packed with witty one-liners, this is a show where you won’t feel embarrassed to ‘wet yourself’ laughing and where mutton is unashamedly dressed as mutton! From hot flushes (or ‘power surges’ as the girls like to call them) and memory loss, to HRT and bladder weakness... no subject is too taboo to tackle!
These three 40/50-something women know more than most about juggling careers with demanding children, long suffering partners, too little money, overgrown gardens and never ending housework!
From struggling with too-tight clothing in a shop changing-room to getting sweaty in an aerobics class, and the testing situations brought on by visiting beauty parlours, classy restaurants and wine bars, these fast and hilarious comedy sketches are not only for the women who ‘ suffer’ but for their men too!
