MATTHEWS Chris Peacefully after a sudden illness, Christopher (Chris/Jake) Matthews a carpenter of Pentwyn Road, Betws died at the I.T.U. ward in Morriston Hospital Swansea. He is succeeded by his wife of 53 years Petula, and two sons Timothy and Martin and his only brother Clive. He has two daughters-in-law Jennifer and Vivianne and 5 grandchildren Elizabeth, Rhys, Rachel, Kelly and Dylan and a new great-granddaughter Winter Violet. His funeral is to take place at Llanelli Crematorium on Thursday December 5th at 3.00pm. Family flowers only please and for people wishing to attend Petula has said that she doesn't want you to feel compelled to dress in black but to dress respectfully as long as you feel comfortable. In lieu of flowers Petula has said that if you would like to donate money instead in respect of the I.T.U. ward at Morriston Hospital where they made sure that Chris' last days were comfortable and that he was in no pain.
