YOUNG protestors at a Llandeilo primary school, who were dismayed to find their school milk came from an English dairy, were raising their glasses to a victory this week.

Five-year-old pupils at Ysgol Teilo Sant had questioned why their milk came from the Cotswolds rather than their native area.

But, impressed by their mini-revolt, Carmarthenshire County Council has ensured the youngsters’ milk originates from west Wales.

“It’s mission accomplished!” said head teacher Roy James. “It appears the children’s campaign, which captured the interest of the local farming community, has worked.

Their mood is now one of understandable elation as they made a stance and showed their support for a local industry and that has been acknowledged.”
