IT CAN be fairly described as Welsh politics’ worst-kept secret, but today Adam Price – the miner’s son from Tycroes who once famously tried to impeach Tony Blair for war crimes – announced his return to the political fray by confirming he will seek nomina - tion as Plaid Cymru’s candidate for Carmarthenshire East & Dinefwr in the Assembly.

Ever since AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas announced he would not seek re-election in 2016, speculation has been rife that Mr Price would throw his hat into the ring. He stood down as MP at the 2010 General Election citing his disillusionment with the House of Commons and re-located to America.

But now Mr Price considers there is unfinished business. His political comeback is bound to prove interesting!

THE great thing about the Queen’s Birthday Honours List is that they recognise people whose efforts often remain unsung. They are the type of people who are genuinely taken aback when notified of their award.

So congratulations to Llandeilo’s Carol Owen for her MBE and to Brian Harries (Brynaman), Mary Jackson (Llandovery) and Paula Treharne (Pantyffynnon) for receiving BEMs.
