THE Gwendraeth Valley can boast additional accommodation following the opening of a new hotel at Llyn Llech Owain country park in Gorslas.
In just a single afternoon, youngsters visiting the park built a ‘Bug Hotel’ under the watchful guidance of park rangers Simon Morris and Judith Weatherburn as part of the Holiday Activity Afternoons programme.
The luxury new venue came with all mod cons – from an insects point of view at least.
“The children created an ideal habitat for all kinds of insects and small mammals out of material including old bricks, a pallet, boards and pipes that were topped with turf,” said Simon.
“We have held an activity for the children every Thursday afternoon during the summer holidays and they have been very popular.
“The Bug Hotel is sure to prove a huge success and there will definitely be plenty of satisfied visitors.”
