AN Ammanford care worker has climbed Snowdon six times in less than a week in an extraordinary fundraising challenge.

to raise money for six different charities.

Rebecca Townley, who is an activity and health co-ordinator for older adults at Parc Amanwy, climbed Wales' highest peak six times in six days to raise cash for six different charities.

Rebecca began the mammoth clib last week and completed her challenge yesterday (Tuesday, August 27).

Cash raised from the event will go to six different charities - National Osteoporosis Society, Stroke Association, Parkinsons UK, MS Society, Alzheimers Society and Guide Dogs for the blind.

Rebecca, who is employed by Carmarthenshire county council, has raised over £1,700 to date, and hoped to reach £2,000 before her climbs ended.
