AMMANFORD town councillors say a facebook page inviting parents to submit photos of kids playing in the town's Splashpads has nothing to do with them.
Town clerk Miriam Phillips has alerted police after complaints were made that the parents of children captured in the shots had not given their consent for the pictures to appear on the web.
The site invites parents to submit photos for a 'Cover Page' competition as well as giving the opening times of the park's toilets.
"This facebook page seems to give the impression it is an official town council site," Mrs Phillips told the Guardian.
"Nothing could be further from the truth – in fact the first we knew of it was when we started to get complaints from members of the public that parents of children in the background of these photos hadn't been approached and asked for their consent.
"Under the circumstances I felt I had no alternative but to report it to the police – again I must stress that this is not an official town council site."
It is understood that Ammanford police are investigating.
