Two Llandovery men have appeared in court to deny a charge of assault by beating following an incident at a town centre pub.
David Elgan Lewis, of Glantowy Farm, and Jonathan Joseph Morgan, of 39 High Street, pleaded not guilty to attacking Billi Mark Haydn Parker, on March 31.
Gareth Walters, representing both men, said Morgan, aged 21, claimed he had acted in self defence during the incident.
Mr Walter said Lewis claimed he “took no part in the incident and denied any part in the violence whatsoever”.
Sitting at Llanelli magistrates court, Deputy District Judge Neil Thomas told the pair: “In relation to this allegation of common assault, the court will have to decide what did and what did not happen.”
The pair were granted bail with the condition that they do not contact Mr Parker or either of two witnesses.
They are due to appear at Carmarthen magistrates court for trial on November 29.
