PLAID Cymru members of Carmarthenshire county council have called on council leader Kevin Madge to make a statement at tomorrow's meeting of full council on two transactions claimed to be unlawful by auditors.
The Wales Audit Office is scrutinising the granting of a £23,217 indemnity to pay for chief executive Mark James’ legal costs in his libel case and counter claim against Towy Valley blogger Jacqui Thompson, plus remuneration totalling £16,353 paid to him in lieu of employer pension contributions.
"Given the potentially grave nature of these allegations it is obviously vital that our members are told just what exactly is going on," Plaid leader Peter Hughes-Griffiths told the Guardian.
