POLICE are on the hunt for thieves who stole three caravans from the Gwendraeth Valley in the early hours of last Wednesday.
The thefts took place from Black Lion Caravan Park in Gorslas, where two vehicles were taken, and from outside the Prince of Wales pub in Porthyrhyd.
An LMC Ambassador and a Hobby 650 UMFE were taken from the caravan park while an Abby Spectrum 420 was taken from outside the pub.
Dyfed-Powys Police admit that there has been an increase in caravan thefts over the last few weeks, which has seen eight caravans stolen from across Carmarthenshire.
The force has even issued a warning to owners to ensure that they secure their vehicles.
The police say that caravans should have at least a hitch lock and wheel lock fitted.
All caravans should also be registered with CRIS (Caravan Registration and Identification Scheme) on 01722 411430.
CRIS is a national register that records the caravan's unique vehicle registration. It also offers an opportunity for prospective purchasers, both private and trade, to check the legitimacy of a used caravan.
PC Anthony George said: "I would ask all owners to visit the website www.soldsecure.com where they will find a wealth of information on the range of caravan security products which are police approved and tested."
Anyone with information about the three thefts is asked to contact PC Parfitt at Cross Hands police station on 0845 3302000.
