An Amman Valley church is on the move to temporary accommodation, due to the construction of the Ammanford link road.
Members of the Christadelphian Church are transferring from their present hall at Pontaman to Cwmgwili School, which has been empty since last July.
Cwmgwili School will be their home until a new hall in Foundry Road is completed in about six months.
Church secretary, Trefor Jenkins, said: "We have been very happy at our hall in Pontaman and all the congregation will be sad to see the premises demolished.
"However, we look forward to our temporary home in Cwmgwili, where we will be holding a bible exhibition soon. We also hope to hold an open day at the Foundry Road hall when it is built."
For the last 20 years, the church has been active from its Pontaman base, meeting every Sunday for worship and Sunday School, and every Thursday for bible study. A youth club also meet on Fridays.
All these activities should continue at Cwmgwili.
The history of the Christadelphians in the Ammanford area goes back to 1909 when a small church was formed. They met in various rented properties and moved to rooms in Hall Street in 1946, where they stayed until the Pontaman hall was built in 1987.
