A LLANDEILO man has been banned from driving for two years after pleading guilty to a string of motoring offences.
David Henry Royston Bourne, of 93B Rhosmaen Street, pleaded guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, without insurance and without a test certificate.
Vaughan Pritchard Jones, prosecuting, told the court that the 25-year-old was spotted by officers who knew he was riding a motorcycle illegally on Rhosmaen Street on August 21 last year.
Mr Pritchard Jones said: "The officers asked him if he had the right documents and when they found out he hadn't, they seized the bike.
"The bike will either be sold or scrapped," he added.
Peter Lazarus, defending, said: "You may recognise him from the past and you will see from his previous convictions that he has motoring offences.
"His hobby is buying old motorbikes, doing them up and selling them and he was on his way to a friend's garage in Penybanc when he was stopped."
Magistrates were also told that Bourne currently owed the court £1791.69 in unpaid fines.
Bourne was banned for two years and fined £100 with six penalty points also added to his licence.
"If there was an accident the other party would have suffered more because you have no insurance," said magistrates, who paid tribute to his partner.
"If it wasn't for your girlfriend keeping track of your fines, you would be in prison," they said.
