TWENTY new flats are on their way to Ammanford town centre.
The plans, approved at a planning meeting last Thursday, will see the flats built on the Castle Garage site, in High Street, with 27 car parking spaces.
Permission was granted, despite the fact that neighbours had voiced concerns over several issues.
These include worries over who will occupy the flats, as well as a loss of privacy, extra burden on the infrastructure and a possible decrease in house prices.
Some of these fears were dismissed by planners, who said they were not planning concerns.
Planning officer Andrew Francis said: "With regard privacy, due regard has to be given to the town centre location."
