A TOWY Valley Special Needs Unit is holding an exhibition and presentation on local landscapes and heritage at Llandeilo Civic Hall next week.
Pupils from Ysgol Tre-gib are taking part in the project, which runs in partnership between the school and the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) sponsored Carmarthenshire Heritage Regeneration Trust.
Ceri Daugherty, senior countryside officer for the CCW, said the scheme was set to play a vital role in the lives of the youngsters.
"Through all areas of our work, we aim to make the environment a valued part of everyone's life in Wales.
"A project of this nature will introduce new aspects of the outdoors to the young people involved and provide a firm foundation for future community interaction and involvement."
The project, which is designed to enthuse, raise awareness and assist the pupils to better understand their local environment, has also attracted interest from other parts of the school.
The science, art, history and geography departments have expreses interest in becoming involved and helping the special needs pupils.
The exhibition and presentation will be held at the Civic Hall in Llandeilo on Friday, February 23, from 11am to 3pm.
