Breakfast will never be the same for one Amman Valley schoolboy after he became the face of one of the nation's leading cereal brands.

Cellan Wyn Evans (pictured), from Pontaman's Lon Ger y Coed, is to appear in a nationwide TV advertising campaign for Cheerios The 11-year-old drama student beat off hundreds of other young hopefuls to land the coveted role.

Cellan, along with mum Bethan and dad Pete, went to London where he took the latest steps into a career on the silver screen.

"It was a fantastic day's filming and Cellan really enjoyed the whole experience," said Bethan.

"It's a huge TV campaign and we were surprised at how much time, effort and money goes into one 30-second commercial. It was all very exciting."

Cellan spends his Saturdays at the Mark Jermin Stage School in Swansea and is no stranger to the limelight having already worked as a model and appeared on Channel 4.

"Cellan has always loved performing and he was over the moon to get the part," said Bethan.

"He has had so many opportunities since he started attending stage school and he really enjoys every aspect of it.

"It has all been a really great experience for him and who knows what the future holds?

"Cellan is a very talented boy; he has great improvisational skills and is a great little actor. Casting directors can spot this talent and this is why he is so successful," said Mark Jermin.

"Cheerios breakfast cereal is a big TV advert, it's fantastic that one of our students has landed the lead role to be the face of this new advert."

It may still be some time before Cellan is gracing the red carpet with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but his new advert will be broadcast from March 1.
