A GROUP of Towy Valley residents have insisted that they do not want any more homes built in the area after objecting to plans for two semi-detached houses to be built in the village.
The application, made by Keystone Properties of Llandeilo, is for the four new homes to be built on land adjacent to Maes Tywi in Rhosmaen.
A decision is set to be made by at a Carmarthenshire Council planning committee meeting tomorrow, but villagers have left members in little doubt as to what they think of the proposals.
Eight letters were sent in objection to the plans, with residents voicing concern over matters such as a loss of privacy and light, over-development and traffic generation.
Recommending approval, dismissing these worries in the process, planning officer Ceri Davies said that the houses would fit in well.
"The surrounding area is predominantly residential in character, as such the authority considers the proposal to be in-keeping with the general character of the area."
"The authority considers that none of these residents would be adversely affected by this proposal owing to the distance between the site and the properties.
"However, the authority acknowledges that the proposal will have an impact on the adjacent properties in close proximity.
"On balance, therefore, and after careful examination of the site and its surrounding environs, together with the representations received to date, it is considered that the proposals represent an acceptable form of residential development."
