AN YSTRADGYNLAIS woman who stuffed ecstasy tablets and amphetamine powder into her bra was busted by security staff as she tried to enter a nightclub in Pontardawe.

Heidi Davies, 20, admitted possessing the drugs, but was cleared by a jury of a more serious charge of intending to supply them to another.

Davies, of Tudor Street, was conditionally discharged for two years and ordered to pay £100 towards the cost of her prosecution.

Sara Lambert, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court how suspicious staff at the Paradise club asked manageress Sara Beavington to search Davies.

She found two plastic bags inside her bra, one containing five-and-a-half ecstasy tablets and the other one gramme of amphetamine. Miss Lambert said Davies told staff that some of the drugs were for "a guy in there", which led to her being charged with possessing drugs with intent to supply.

But Davies's barrister, Paul Hobson, said she had simply reacted with panic and said the first thing that came into her head.

He described Davies, a care worker, as a foolish woman who had dug a hole for herself only to make matters worse by suggesting she intended to pass the drugs to another person.
