A SWANSEA Valley steelworker has been killed in a motorcyle accident.
Alex Roberts died when the Yamaha R1 motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a car at 6.30am on Thursday.
The former Cwmtawe Comprehensive School pupil was very popular in the village of Rhos and will be sadly missed by his former colleagues at Wall Colmony, Pontardawe.
His family have made an emotional tribute to Alex.
Via a police spokesman they said: "He will be sadly missed."
The 28-year-old is believed to have been on his way home from work at Port Talbot's Corus Steelworks when the accident happened on the A474 in Neath.
The woman driving the car was uninjured.
Police are appleaing for witnesses to come forward.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the manner in which the motorcycle was being ridden prior to the collision, to contact the Western Area roads policing unit on 01792 456999 ext 55331 or their nearest police station."
