PLAID Cymru say they have been unable to gain assurances for the long-term future of Brynaman's Remploy factory.
MP Adam price and AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas have held discussions at the site in relation to a modernisation polan put forward by the Government.
Mr Thomas said afterwards he was convinced there was a strong possibility the factory was earmarked for closure.
"Obviously we will be aiming to meet with trade unions and work with them to vigourously oppose these plans and to support their alternative proposals," he said.
Mr Price commented: "I am surprised that once again a Labour Government is proposing to shed jobs in the Amman Valley, which has already suffered as a result of the Government's raid on the manufacturing industry."
