RHODRI Glyn Thomas AM has vowed to do all he can to speed up the decision-making process for the Llandeilo bypass after being left "frustrated" by the delay.
The town was assured in March that the announcement of a preferred route would be made after the Assembly elections.
Now, with Assembly members new and old almost two weeks into their roles, calls for the decision to be made public have intensified.
One stumbling block is the fact that no government has been formed, so no minister is in place to make the decision.
But Mr Thomas insists he is doing all he can to get the choice made as soon as possible.
"I have been left very frustrated that an announcement on this issue has been continually delayed," he said.
"The people of Llandeilo need clarity on this matter.
"I will be seeking to determine at the earliest possibility what the precise situation is.
"I have contacted the South Wales Trunk Road Agency and am hoping to hear from them in due course.
"It is clearly a very important matter for my constituents and one in which an announcement is long overdue."
