THE FORMER manager of Ammanford's Margaret Street Practice has appeared before the town's magistrates charged with 30 counts of obtaining money by deception.
Dawn Susan Taylor, of 33 Fishermans Quay, Swansea, did not enter any pleas and the case, which also includes three counts of attempting to obtain a money transfer by deception, was sent to Swansea Crown Court.
Crown prosecutor Beth Thomas told magistrates the alleged crimes were so serious they did not have sufficient powers to deal with them.
She said the 30 counts of obtaining money by deception totalled over £100,000 at Barclays Bank's Ammanford branch.
It is also alleged the 45-year-old attempted to obtain a £143,000 mortgage from the bank by falsely claiming higher salaries on the application form.
The charges relate to a period from January 13, 2004, until February 9, 2006.
Taylor was bailed until June 21 when she will appear again at Ammanford Magistrates' Court for commital to the crown court.
The Guardian exclusively broke the story of the alleged scam back on February 21.
