A 93-YEAR-OLD Llan-dovery woman was the victim of an attempted distraction burglary last week - but the two men fled with nothing.
The duo, one in his early 20s the other between 30 and 40, tricked their way into an undisclosed address in the town last Wednesday (May 9).
The incident, which took place between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, has been linked with similar attempts in Penygroes and Abergwili at around the same time.
The common excuse was that there was a problem with the water and they needed immediate acccess.
Fortunately, nothing was stolen from any of the properties.
The Llandovery victim was able to give officers a detailed description of the men, describing one as slim and clean shaven, with a tidy brown haircut.
The second, she said, was slightly taller, overweight and wearing a dark blue beanie' hat.
Dyfed-Powys Police community safety officer Rob Chapman said Carmar-thenshire was still one of the safest places to live in Britain.
He did however, warn members of the public to be extra vigilant when dealing with callers.
