Calls for a doctor's surgery in Llandybie have been backed by local AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas.
He has written to Carmarthenshire Local Health Board urging them to consider the proposals which would mean people from Llandybie would not have to travel outside their area to see a doctor.
Mr Thomas said a number of people in the Llandybie area had contacted his office about the issue.
"I have written to the Local Health Board in the hope that this issue can be addressed," he said.
"Even if there is a facility to hold weekly surgeries it would give the people of Llandybie easier access to see a doctor locally."
