A COLLAPSED pavement which has resulted in serious traffic queues in Saron needs to be made a top priority by Carmarthenshire County Council, according to local councillor Peter Cooper.
Preliminary work on the pavement along lower Dyffryn Road has resulted in temporary traffic lights over the last few months, much to the annoyance of local people.
Cllr Cooper says has been asking officers for regular updates and now wants the County's Head of Transportation to act urgently.
"The delays we have seen in completing this work are completely unacceptable," said Cllr Cooper.
"I was assured that this work would be completed by now, but instead local people are still having to queue at the temporary traffic lights.
"I am concerned not only for the motorists who face daily delays along lower Dyffryn Road, but also by the safety aspect of allowing this pavement to go unrepaired for such a long period of time."
