MORE than 40 green-fingered young volunteers from Cwmaman Youth Club and Ysgol Y Bedol have been busy this week planting hanging baskets to display on local businesses and lamp posts in Cwmaman.
The aim of the floral displays is to help brighten up and improve the appearance of the village over the coming weeks and months.
The project, Cwmaman in Bloom, the first in the village, consists of the erection of 40 floral hanging baskets around the communityand is a partnership between Cwmaman Town Council and Cwmaman Youth Council.
Carmarthenshire County Council Youth Participation Officer Sarah Powell said: "It was a delight to work with Cwmaman Youth Council on this project, encouraging young people and children to become involved and to take pride in their communites while having fun.
" I believe that it's small touches like this that make our communites brighter and more welcoming."
