AMMANFORD Youth Council are urging youngsters to share their thoughts and views about issues they face in the town.
At a recent meeting held by Amman Valley Enterprise, the young people shared their ideas and frustrations and made valuable recommendations about issues and projects that the Youth Council could tackle.
The event was also attended by local youth workers and town councillors, who listened to what the young people had to say and also contributed ideas and suggestions.
Some of the actions taken forward are to set up a youth theatre group, get more bins in the park and a possible youth art project.
Although this initial event saw a limited number of young people attending, the Youth Council feels the event has been a positive start and would like to build on this for the future.
They are keen to recruit new members to help work on exciting new projects, which will benefit young people in Ammanford.
If you would like to join the Youth Council or wish to get involved at all, please contact Cllr Hugh Evans on 01269 594500 or e-mail on MHEvans@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
