A TUMBLE farmer has been hauled in front of magistrates for breaching rules involving his cattle.
Philip George Murrell, of Blaenau Mawr, was cautioned for breaching the six-day standstill period on moving livestock after animals had been brought on to the land, and for moving cattle without having a pre-movement TB test.
His employee, Janet Reed-Boulton, of Ystlysycoed, Cross Hands Road in Pontarddulais, also admitted an offence of failing to keep cattle movement records.
She pleaded guilty to the offence under Article 29 of the Cattle Identification Regulations.
Carmarthenshire Council brought the prosecution and the case was heard at Ammanford magistrates.
Council board member for public protection Cllr Hugh Evans said: "It is important that people keep proper records of the movement of animals, follow the rules on when they can be moved and have the neccesary health tests carried out."
