RESIDENTS across Carmarthenshire are getting a one-off chance to get rid of their rubbish for free.
A series of waste amnesties are being held in towns and villages throughout the county, organised by Carmarthenshire County Council.
Collection points will be set up so that residents do not have to travel very far to dispose of their rubbish.
Councillor Pam Palmer said: "We hope as many residents as possible take advantage of these amnesties to get rid of any unwanted rubbish they have around the home.
"Bulky waste such as furniture, wood and cardboard left lying in and around homes is a fire hazard and can result in fly-tipping.
"By taking positive action residents really can make a difference to the area in which they live."
