IT IS being claimed the Upper Amman Valley is a cleaner, greener and safer place to live following a county council blitz to reduce anti-social behaviour and clean up the streets.
Children in Upper Brynaman, Cefnbrynbrain and Ystradowen carried out litter picks together with youth clubs, voluntary groups and residents associations. Forty bags of rubbish were collected in Brynaman alone.
A further blitz is planned for the Gwendraeth Valley between July 7-14.
CSP chairman Mark James said: "I am delighted residents, both young and old, gave their support to the Cleaner, Greener, Safer Streets initiative and helped to make it such a success in the Upper Amman Valley.
