AN AMMAN Valley chemist will embark on a 400km cycle next month- and its because of his loyal customers.
Andrew Jones, who runs the Aman Pharmacy in Glanaman, gets on his bike on June 15 when he will leave Crystal Palace in London and head off to Reims in France, where he will arrive four days later.
The ride is in aid of the British Heart Foundation, and Mr Jones, who has been run the shop for 13 years, admits he could not find a more fitting cause.
"30,000 people die from heart conditions every year so it's a commendable charity," he said.
"We have a few people who come into the shop that suffer from heart disease and heart conditions.
"So if something can be done for them, I'm more than happy to do it."
£1300 has already been raised by Mr Jones and with two and a half weeks still to go until the race it is hoped the eventual sum will be even greater.
"I would just like to thank everybody who has been generous to donate."
