A Llandeilo man who incited a youngster to commit sex acts less than a year after being sentenced for identical offending was jailed on Friday.
Alfie Davies, 19, had also refused to listen to court orders and had to be taken to Swansea crown court under arrest after failing to attend an earlier sentencing hearing.
Davies, of Taliaris, had admitted contacting a 15-year-old boy via Facebook and asking him to engage in homosexual acts.
Davies also admitted failing to attend court and was jailed for a total of 30 weeks.
Nicola Powell, prosecuting, said just 11 months before the offending Davies had been punished via a police caution for encouraging a 12-year-old boy to perform indecent acts.
Judge Paul Thomas said there was evidence that both Davies and the 15-year-old had been smoking cannabis while in contact with each other.
Davies’ messages involved a degree of grooming, he added.
Judge Thomas said he also noted that Davies had failed to sign the sex offenders’ register as he had been ordered to do so after entering a guilty plea.
And he had also failed to co-operate with the probation service, which explained why a pre sentence report was not available.
On top of that he had not bothered attending his sentencing hearing on March 8.
