North Wales Assembly Member, Llyr Gruffydd has today endorsed Adam Price to be the new leader of Plaid Cymru.
The endorsement comes days after Dafydd Llywelyn, Police and Crime Commissioner for Dyfed Powys also announced he would be supporting Mr Price's leadership bid.
Llyr Gruffydd AM said the 2021 election could be an "exciting and successful time" with Adam Price as the party's new leader.
Llyr Gruffydd AM said:"Adam has a proud record of championing causes and communities right across Wales. His work in the Assembly, particularly on the Budget, has helped us put a number of Plaid policies into action, including in the region I represent here in the north. But we all know we can achieve so much more with a Plaid Cymru government.
"I want Adam to be Plaid Cymru's candidate for First Minister of Wales.
"Adam is not only creative in his thinking; he has the ability to communicate those innovative ideas effectively, the ability to inspire and persuade people with his vision, and the ability to turn the Welsh Government into a vehicle for positive change across the country.
"Election 2021 could be a very exciting and successful time for Plaid Cymru with Adam as our new leader."
Welcoming the endorsement, Adam Price AM said:"I'm very grateful to Llyr and the scores of members – elected and grassroots – who are coming out to support my positive campaign to lead Plaid Cymru and to help us lead the next Welsh Government.
"I'm looking forward to sharing more ideas over the coming weeks as I hold a number of events across Wales to meet and chat with party members."
