THE HEARTBROKEN family of Kelly Hyde paid a final tribute to their "beloved" daughter and sister at her funeral last Friday.
Over 200 people packed Llanelli Crematorium to pay their respects to the 24-year-old trainee hairdresser and former Tre-gib pupil. Moving statements were read on behalf of Kelly's parents, Andy and Barbara, and her brother and sisters.
In Andy Hyde's statement, which was read by his brother, he said he was "priviliged to have had such a wonderful daughter".
Fittingly, the body of the former member of Llandeilo Riding Club was brought to the crematorium in a horsedrawn carriage.
Kelly's favourite songs, Here Without You by American band 3 Doors Down and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, were also played.
Her love of life was touched upon throughout the service, with the Rev Pauline Barnett telling mourners "We can either pray for Kelly to return or we can choose to live like Kelly did - with a smile on our face and living life to the full.
"We can either mourn the fact that Kelly has gone or we can celebrate the fact that Kelly lived such a wonderful life."
The funeral came just over four weeks after Kelly, who lived in New Road, Pantyffynnon, went missing while out walking her much-loved whippet, Scrappy, on Thursday, September 27.
