THE Trustees at an Amman Valley food hub have thanked people for volunteering and donating despite the coronavirus.
Terry Pugh said the team of volunteers at Canolfan Maerdy in Tairgwaith are helping the community by collecting food from supermarkets and delivering food parcels as well as phoning isolated residents to check on them.
The community transport are collecting and delivering food and vital medicines for vulnerable people who are self-isolating while also taking people to essential medical appointments or to deliver care.
But it is all coming at an extra cost and the centre is making an appeal for help from the public.
Terry said: "Canolfan Maerdy is providing a proactive response to this pandemic, at a time when the income for the centre and staff has come to a stop.
"We would like to give a massive thanks to the staff and volunteers at Canolfan Maerdy for the amazing work they are doing during this pandemic."
Terry said they want to continue to support their community, so for those wanting to volunteer or donate financially he said to contact the team on 01269 826893.
