THE ORGANISER of the meals on wheels service for the Amman Valley has thanked its volunteers who have helped deliver to the vulnerable since March.

Cllr Kevin Madge relaunched the service at the start of the pandemic to help the vulnerable and those shielding in the community.

Initially, the meals were cooked by the team at Garnant day centre until the end of the summer when the service was moved to Garnant Golf Club.

Cllr Madge, Labour Shadow Executive Board Member for Social Care and Health, said: “I would like to thank all the people that have gone the extra mile to help the people in the area. You have been like angels throughout this pandemic and will continue to do so going into 2021.

“It has been a difficult year but one that has brought people together. The volunteers have gone above and beyond for the people of the Amman Valley.

“Thanks also go to the team at the day centre in Garnant who worked very hard and to Garnant Golf club for its continued work and for helping to feed the vulnerable on Christmas day.”
