Carmarthenshire residents go to the polls tomorrow, Thursday, May 6 to cast their votes in the Senedd and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
The Welsh Government has made £1.5 million available to returning officers across the country to ensure that polling stations are safe environments for the elections.
And the 'stay safe' mantra of 'hands, face and space' will be joined by a suggestion to take along your own pen or pencil to the polling station.
Some polling stations in the county will be at new locations due to Covid regulations.
Your polling station will be on your poll card. In the Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency, Betws Rugby Club will be used as a new polling station and so will Pembrey Memorial Hall in Pembrey, Llanelli.
In some areas of Carmarthenshire, voters will also cast a vote for their preferred candidates in a small number of town and community council elections taking place on the same day.
Tomorrow's election will be the first time 16 and 17-year-olds have the right to vote in the Senedd elections, however they will not be able to vote in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections or any local by-elections.
Almost 1,500 16 and 17-year-olds in Carmarthenshire have registered to vote taking the total electorate for Carmarthenshire to just over 122,000.
In the Carmarthenshire area, voting will take place for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, Llanelli, the Mid and West Wales region and the Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner.
The five candidates in Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency are Monica Mary French - Liberal Democrats; Havard Hughes - Conservative and Unionist Party; Rob James - Labour Party; Karl Pollard - Reform UK; Adam Price - Plaid Cymru.
Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price is the current MS for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr. In 2016, he secured 48.5 per cent of the vote. It is seen as a safe seat for Plaid Cymru.
Standing in Llanelli is Lee Waters - Labour; Jon Burree - Liberal Democrats; Gareth Beer - Reform UK; Helen Mary Jones - Plaid Cymru; Sian Caiach - Gwlad The Welsh Independence Party; Howard Lillyman - UKIP Scrap the Assembly; Shahana Najmi - Independent; Stefan Ryszewski - Conservatives.
There are four candidates vying for the role of Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner.
They are: Conservative, Jon Burns; Plaid Cymru, Dafydd Llywelyn; Welsh Liberal Democrats, Glyn Preston and Labour and Co-operative Party, Philippa Ann Thompson.
There are also by-elections for six seats on the following town and community councils: Llanedi Community Council (Hendy Ward), Llanedi Community Council (Tycroes Ward), Llanelli Town Council (Elli Ward), Llanelli Rural Council (Pemberton Ward), Llannon Community Council (Tumble Ward) and Cwmamman Town Council (Tircoed Ward).
In Carmarthenshire, votes will be counted on Friday, May 7 and Sunday, May 9. Polling stations will be open between 7am and 10pm.
