Neath Port Talbot Council has announced that in line with Welsh Government policy, the number of people who can attend burials in the county borough will rise from 20 to 30 from this week.
Restrictions on the numbers attending burials are put in place by the Welsh Government to contain the spread of Covid-19 and to safeguard those attending.
The overarching advice, therefore, remains that people should only attend a funeral if they have been invited by the person responsible for arranging the funeral.
Because of the need to maintain adequate social distancing and in accordance with Welsh Government guidance, the number who can attend services at Margam Crematorium remains at 20.
The restriction on numbers attending the crematorium is in place to safeguard those that attend, but a council spokesman said that the numbers that can be in attendance are kept constantly under review.
In the light of changes in social distancing rules or changes in legislation the crematorium will review numbers accordingly with the aim of increasing as soon as it is possible to do so.
