PONTYBEREM are flying high in second spot in the South Wales Cricket Association's division three after notching a seven-wicket success over Dyffryn.
After winning the toss, and electing to bat, Dyffryn only managed to make 106 all out after 43 overs, and Pontyberem made it home for the loss of three wickets.
Paul Rowland (17) and Darren Wood (16) put on 36 for the first wicket, but Paul Amphlett (17) Alun Evans (17), Lewis Day (12) were the only others to impact.
Pontyberem's Oliver Thomas Taylor-Jones returned 3 wickets for 28, whilst Daniel Griffiths took 2 for 16, Rhys Sewell 2 for 21, Rhodri Evans 2 for 14.
Cadan Lewis had 4 maidens in his figures of 1 for 16 off 10 overs to ensure a very achievable target for the Pontyberem batsmen to chase.
Rhodri Evans (26) and Iestyn Davies (8 not out) put on 62 for the first wicket, and after a few wickets fell, Daniel Griffiths sealed the win with his 22 not out.
Paul Amphlett had some success with the ball for Dyffryn as he returned 3 for 23 from his 8 overs, but the win was achieved in just 16 overs.
