A MAN who was caught away from his home in breach of covid rules has been fined.
Rhodri Jones, 23, was at an address in Ystalyfera in March this year, Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard.
Jones was not present for the hearing and the case was proved in his absence under the single justice procedure.
He was prosecuted under the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020, being a person living in an alert level four area of Wales and leaving it without reasonable excuse.
The court heard Jones, of The Cottage, Pontardawe Golf Club, Rhydyfro, was at Wern Road, Ystalyfera on March 20 this year.
Magistrates fined him £1760. He must also pay £176 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
