A COMMUNITY council has awarded more than £12,000 in grant funding to local organisations.
A total of 30 applicants have benefitted from the funding from Llandybie council, the majority being within the council's wards.
Citing a very difficult year for clubs, charities and welfare halls, chair of the council, Councillor Ian Llewelyn, said he was pleased that the community council was able to support them to help re-establish themselves in the community.
A total of £12,200 was shared out between the organisations including the annual support for graveyard maintenance at many of the local chapels and churches.
A grant of £750 was awarded to Ammanford Foodbank and £1,000 to Wales Air Ambulance in recognition of the service that they provide.
The council consider grant requests in September and February each year with further details available on the council’s website www.llandybie.org.uk.
